Pre-Construction Permits for Dry Cleaners

Dry cleaners that use dry cleaning solvents containing Perchloroethylene (“PERC”) [also known as DowPer™, PerSec®, Perklone™ D, Perklone™ DX, Tetrachloroethylene, or Tetrachloroethene], or n-Propyl Bromide (“n-PB”) [also known as Dry-Solv™ and Fabrisolv™] for dry cleaning are required to obtain a pre-construction permit from AMS prior to installation and must maintain an air pollution license for ongoing operation.

For units installed at any time prior to December 13, 2010, including those existing in place for many years, a permit application must be submitted by June 13, 2011. An air pollution license must be maintained for ongoing operation.
