This license is no longer required by the City of Philadelphia, but other regulations may apply.
Child Care Facility License
The City of Philadelphia regulates childcare facilities for zoning, building, health and fire code compliance. If you are planning to operate such a facility, you will need to know what type of child care/use group you intend to apply for in order to fill out the appropriate documentation.
Special Assembly Occupancy License
This license is required for restaurants, bars, catering halls, night clubs and other gathering places with dancing and a lawful occupancy of 50 people or more. Theaters with fixed seating do not need this license.
Small Games of Chance License
This license is required for any organization that conducts small games of chance on a continuing basis
Sheet Metal (Technician) License
A Sheet Metal Technician license is required to install, maintain, and service sheet metal systems used in HVAC systems.
Persons employed as a Sheet Metal Technician must work for a licensed contractor. This license does not authorize the operation of a business.
Sale of Firearms License
This license is no longer required by the City of Philadelphia.
Rubbish Vehicle – Public and Private
In accordance with a Commonwealth Court ruling, the Department of Licenses and Inspections is no longer licensing waste haulers and their vehicles.
Vendor on Foot License
This license is required for the taking of orders, and as a separate transaction, making deliveries to purchasers. A license is required for any period from one day to one year. Vendor Motor Vehicle License
This license is required to offer goods for sale from a wagon, vehicle or conveyance. A license is required for any period from one day to one year.
Sidewalk Sales License
Required for anyone who exhibits, displays, offers for sale or sells any goods, wares or merchandise from any stand while on the sidewalks of the City of Philadelphia.
Pushcart Vendor License
Required of those who offer merchandise for sale from a wagon, handcart, pushcart or stand. A license is required for any period from one day to one year
Newsstand License
This license is required to place or maintain a stand or other sales device on the sidewalk for the display and sale of newspaper, magazines, periodicals, paper bound books, tobacco products, wrapped candy and State Lottery tickets
Neighborhood Vending District License
This license is required for sidewalk or street vendors within specific neighborhood business districts.
Center City Vendor License
Required for anyone who exhibits, displays, offers for sale or sells any goods, wares or merchandise from any stand while on the sidewalks of the City of Philadelphia in designated areas.
Vendor Licenses
A license is required of any vendor selling from a sidewalk stand, a pushcart, a motor vehicle or by foot. In addition to the license, the City of Philadelphia Code limits or prohibits vendors from selling in certain areas.
